The mainstream media frequently questions what Democrats are doing to counter Trump and his divisive agenda, often implying that they are not taking enough action. This narrative persists despite the media’s awareness that Democrats are in the minority, which severely limits their ability to effectively challenge or block Trump’s policies. Unfortunately, this creates a misleading perception for less-informed voters, who are led to believe that Democrats have the means to stop Trump but are choosing not to act. Meanwhile, the Republican Party, which is the driving force behind these troubling developments, often escapes scrutiny and accountability.
The truth is that the entire Republican establishment, from its leadership to its rank-and-file members, is directly responsible for the current state of affairs. The media is well aware that Democratic state attorneys general are achieving notable victories in the courts, successfully challenging several harmful policies. Yet, this rarely gets the attention it deserves. Democrats do need to use every tool at their disposal to counter Republican initiatives, but they must also be cautious and avoid making rash decisions simply to appease media-driven expectations. It sometimes seems as though the media is deliberately trying to sow discord within the Democratic Party rather than focusing on holding Republicans accountable.
